Mainstay Independent "Coffin Ship Stout"
$6/10 oz. on tap at the brewery on 2 November 2019
Notes: Typical appearance with a black body topped by a creamy head of tan. Very good head retention and lacing. Unfortunately there are some higher alcohols and a note of green apple in the aroma over baker's chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit. The taste unfortunately displays that alcohol clearly along with molasses, chocolate, dark fruit, burnt sugar, and rich coffee. Dry finish. Medium-full in body, gently crisp, and smooth.
