A Foreign Export style stout inspired by the stouts that were exported from Ireland and England in British merchant ships. Kegs of beer were often used as ballast in the bellies of these cargo ships and loading ceased when the boat was submerged to the load line. Medium bodied with notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and fruit.

This one is a little more like dark milk chocolate in color, than the expected black coffee brown. It has a nice light brown head that seems to be enduring. All this can be observed after the contents of a pint can are emptied into a clear glass liter mug, It's aroma is of roasted malt, but little else and it's not noteworthy. The taste is of roasted, almost burnt barley, but it doesn't make the overall taste too bitter. It does bitter the taste conclusion, which would be outstanding were there some sweetness up front. But, that isn't there, so this can only be considered a nice one dimensional stout. The taste levels claimed really aren't there in levels enough to appreciate. Even the mouthfeel falls just a little short, as it drinks more like an ordinary porter than the standard stout. Still, it's not bad at all.
