Can; illegible date, probably in mid June. From a stange.
A: pours a nearly clear pale straw yellow with fine sediment and large streaming bubbles. Two fingers of foamy white head recedes to a thick ring.
S: heavy on the vinous kolsch character. Fruity and sweet. Like unripe plantains, or gooseberries.
T: bready and mildly sweetnon the arrival, transitioning to that vinous character on the mid palate, then a pretty strong noble hop finish that lingers with a green floral edge. This is definitely an edgier, steelier take on the kolsch style. I think it would be hard to have more than one of these, which is the opposite of what you want in a kolsch.
M: bready, rounded, clean. More attenuated than I’d like, actually. It lacks that ale fluffiness I enjoy, and I found 73 kolsch, tasted yesterday, delivered on that.
O: a fine American take on a kolsch-style ale, meaning just a little over the top. This style is all about subtlety; this fails on that front, but is an enjoyable beer. I don’t think it would go well with many foods.

Mostly clear golden body with a thick finger of white foam and lazy lacing. Smelled of wildflowers, fresh white bread, honey, grass, and general grains, springy. Taste is more lager like than the smell indicated, big bread and biscuit flavors mash together with grass and flowers in a more subdued way, with honey presiding over all. Feel is very smooth, has more hop texture than expected for style, decently full but stays light. Pair great with a cheese board. The wife liked it
