Bokeh Orbs is a Double IPA brewed with wheat and oats, and hit with Citra and a touch of Cashmere. An incredibly soft, yet full mouthfeel from high protein malts and our tailored water profile. Notes of overripe fruit with a some earthy undertones to keep it all together.

poured from a 16oz can into a spiegelau IPA glass. pours a thick and murky gold with three fingers of dirty white foam. smells and tastes of a bouquet of tropical and citrusy fruits (peach, melon, lime, orange). it smells quite a bit better than it tastes. has a noticeable alcohol burn (which i don’t mind) and a touch of sweetness to it that distracts from the citrus and bitterness. a moderately full mouthfeel with a little less carb than i’d prefer in the style. idk if that’s from the malt bill (too much wheat and oats) or what. still, tasty DIPA that with a touch more carbonation would be a home run for me. love the citra / cashmere pairing.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Had 7/29/20.
Pours a hazy yellow, with a two inch head of creamy foam with good retention and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of orange, melon, some peach, light grapefruit, some malt, grain as it warms. Has a somewhat dank aroma. Flavors of melon, orange, peach, some grapefruit, malt, light wheat. Tastes lightly dank, with a light bitterness that lingers on the finish. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good light body, well carbonated.
Some different and well developed aromas and flavors from the hop blend- the melon and peach, that blend well with the citrus. Not one of their top efforts, but solid and very enjoyable.

Released 7/21/20; drank 8/1/20 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange/yellow appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge bright white head; frothy lace.
Cream, lemon & dry wheat notes in the nose.
Sticky, medium mouthfeel.
Lemon & sweet cream flavors up front; sweet cream notes on the finish.
Another NE IPA that is super sweet & oddly dry, somehow avoiding balance & just clashing. Not one I'll return to.

16oz can, undated, released on 07.20.2020, poured into a stemless wine glass.
The beer pours a very hazy and cloudy golden straw color, honey and orange hues with a frothy white head, about two fingers tall with excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is quite nice, lots of citrus ranging from orange to lemon, mango puree, melon and peach with a nice floral quality and sweet yeast and soft dough. The flavors are good, loads of juicy citrus and tropical fruits, nice melon and peach skin that offers a bit more sweetness, a delicate wildflower bouquet that brings out some tangy and grassy hops, dank and earthy with a pleasant bitterness that's met immediately by assertively sweet yeast and a pillowy base of cereal grains and pale dough. The mouthfeel is good, coating and creamy medium body, super smooth texture with a dry bite at the finish.
Verdict: A nice NEIPA from Phase Three. Plenty juicy and bright, a nice melon and peach quality helps to break away from the citrus dominant beers that overpopulate the style. A bit sweet at times but ultimately this is still a very good IPA.
