Milkshake Double India Pale Ale with vanilla, lactose & strawberry. We added to the ABV if our standard Strawberry Chantilly to get 9% ABV and jam packed it with vanilla and strawberry. For this one, we added the fruit after fermentation to deliver that jammy-fresh strawberry flavor.

Aroma is big fruit/strawberry/orange and lactose/mild vanilla. The flavor is strawberry/big orange, malts and a tropical/spicy hop/mild lactose sweet finish.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 7/22/21, had 8/18/21.
Pours a hazy dark orange, milky looking, with a huge creamy foam head on an average pour, and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of lactose, vanilla, strawberries- more as warms, a light citrus aroma. Flavors of vanilla, strawberries, lactose, some malt, a little citrus flavor. Tastes lightly earthy and grassy, with a slight hop bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good lighter body, appropriately carbonated.
Pretty focused and straightforward. The strawberries show well and the vanilla and lactose are solid companions. The light hop presence helps to keep it from being too sweet. Tasty and very enjoyable.

The color is some kind of bruised mauve, the milk and blood of an old dragon man I don't know.
Nose is a handful of creme savers (note: I do not recommend gathering the beer in your hand).
Taste carries a lot of the familiar creamy New England craze. Strawberry cream hops like tropical fruit, and cherry syrup aftertaste.
Dryish finish, leaves a coat on the back of the tongue.
Eventually, God is going to punish us for this decadence, unseen since Caligula.

Had on tap. Hazy faded orange with a white head. Smell and taste are both a strawberry, vanilla, and sugar bomb the whole way. Almost nerds candy like it is so sweet, still the strawberry holds true. Feel is sugary, cool, bright, and decently creamy. Prefer the better balance the original brings but this was good if you are in the mood for strawberries and cream... with extra sugar

Phase Three is quickly becoming one of my favorite hometown breweries. They are known for their stellar IPAs and the double strawberry Chantilly is no exception. This milkshake IPA is super fluffy and tastes of pure, sweet summer strawberries. It is one of the best milkshakes I have had to date and would love to find another 4-pack.

Canned 7/27/21; drank 8/22/21 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance; kinda ugly.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE khaki/rust colored head (be VERY careful pouring!!); a thick curtain of frothy lace.
Sweet strawberry, cream & mild dry grass notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel with pulp!
Strawberry & cream flavors up front; mild dry grass notes on the finish.
A bit too much of a good thing, but those with a sweet tooth will appreciate. Not one I'll seek out again.
