Formerly known as Pixel Density Lite
This riff off of our mainstay, Pixel Density, takes the ABV down a couple notches to 4.5% without any sacrifice to the flavor. Creamy, fluffy oats carry a gigantic aromatic and flavorful Pacific Northwest Citra hop profile of oranges, pineapple and lychee fruit.

12 oz. can, canned 04/12/2023. A super freshie, twelve days in the can. Acquired this guy as part of Phase Three's first mixed 8 pack, this one being a light variant of their traditional Pixel Density. I'm always down for a good variant showcase, so here goes.
Poured to Camp Crystal Lake stemless wine snifter.
A: Pours a pale haze. like a watered down glass of OJ. Small finger of white bubbles recedes quick. Appears fresh, well carbonated, and has a decent bit of scattered lacing when given a swirl. It looks okay, for what it is.
S: Excellent amped up hop aromas on display, smells super fresh, floral, & appealing. Tons of floral Mosaic hops, and super juicy & citrusy smelling. Literally smells like fresh squeezed juice.
T: Like the original Pixel Density, the amount of balance on display here is what strikes me the most, when compared to your typical every day Hazy. Not overly acidic or tart, but instead balanced, with a good deal of bready malt backbone to accompany the hops. Slight hint of rye that I found in the original also..
F: Super smooth, crisp, clean, juicy. Exceptionally easy-drinking & light-bodied. If anything, I'd say it falls just a touch too thin for my personal tastes, but considering this is a "Light" style Hazy, we'll cut it some slack. The addition of oats definitely lends a distinctive creaminess to the feel of the body, that's for sure.
Overall, not my favorite style to begin with, as I feel like they are always lacking, but this might be one of the best examples of this wayward style yet.

This one was very nicely done by Phase Three. I appreciate the fact that they lowered the ABV to make this a very crushable beer. It is lighter and thinner than Pixel Density but that is to be expected.

poured from a 12oz can into a barrel theory stemmed, narrow chalice. pours a hazy light gold with a finger of frothy white head. nose is more cereal grains than citrus but the oranges and lemons are there. again, it’s a lot more grains than hops in the flavor but it works. it’s refreshing and far from sweet or bitter. doesn’t taste like water but definitely tastes “lite.” surprisingly solid mouthfeel - fairly thick and full. really a great session IPA. i’m typically not a fan of this style but this is a good one!

Phase Three has been crushing the IPA scene in Chicago and I was intrigued on their endeavor into the light IPA realm. The result is a great, classic IPA just cut in half. I really enjoy these types of beers because the flavor is still there but in a more refreshing format.

This one pours a light hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This one smells like orange, tangerine, wheat, and stone fruit.
This is a really solid session IPA - it feels and drinks much bigger than 4.5%. There's a big Citra character, all the fresh and dank juicy hop character that you expect.
This is medium bodied, very creamy, and very drinkable, with none of the watery or thin character that I expect.
I wasn't sure what to expect here, as Phase Three is an extremely hype-laden brewery, and session IPAs are rarely any good. This is was very tasty surprise.
