2025: Stripped down to showcase a singular adjunct: coffee. We aged this base imperial porter for 19 months then conditioned it on a special blend of Tugboat’s Sumatran and Yirgacheffe coffees. Big chocolate and roasted coffee notes with a distinct bourbon heat and american oak character.

Bottle pour. Black color, tan head.
This reminds me of the 12 oz bourbon county coffee stouts. Great coffee flavor, excellent body, not charred or roasted. Wonderful bourbon blended all throughout. Great!

Released 3/19/21; drank 5/27/21 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a small tan head; minimal lace.
Rich cocoa, chocolate syrup, mild booze heat & faint coffee bean.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, mild bourbon heat & faint coffee notes.
Thankfully, the barrel overpowers the Tugboat coffee and this is a nice, balanced, sweet stout. I'd have another!

Pours a thick, viscous black color. Completely opaque. Little to no head.
Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon and oak. The bourbon is really prominent but does not overpower the other notes.
Taste has notes of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and bourbon with a musty oakiness on the back end. The coffee in this is actually pretty fruit and that comes through on the profile.
Feel is medium to full bodied, slick and viscous. Gentle, mild carbonation. A bit of heat does come through producing a warming sensation in the belly.
Overall this is a lovely barrel aged beer. The coffee being such a fruity roast threw me a bit initially, but the overall presentation is top notch.
