I like both these breweries. I’ve been a fan of Phase Three since Shane (I think) was at Ram in Schaumburg and had people around the building to when he was at More and until now. Bottle Logic makes some of the best adjunct/barrel aged stouts in the country.
Why make an NEIPA with vanilla? For me, just doesn’t work. It’s like a poorly executed creamsicle style beer.

16oz can. Date stamp on bottom reads 'PACKAGED ON 09-07-2023'.
Hazy, deep gold colored body. Two fingers of white head settles back to a tiny bubble ca and high ring. Thick horizontal lacing rings are left behind.
Aroma is rich with sweet vanilla. Under the vanilla lie the hops that express citrus and tropical fruits.
Taste allows more of the hops to shine, with the sweet vanilla as a complementary flavor. Orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and muskmelon. Very low bitterness.
Thicker mouth feel. Coats the mouth. Higher ABV% is well hidden. Very good carbonation.
Takes a few sips to get the senses around the vanilla and hops. Quite sweet overall.

Vanilla Backbox is an IPA collab from two of my go-to breweries. It is a bitter IPA that has a ton of body and a big hit of vanilla bean. It is not a milkshake but brings some of those creamy vanilla vibes.

A: The beer is very hazy pale yellow in color and has some hints of brownish hues. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass and a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Moderate aromas of vanilla are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but also has notes of lychee and stone fruit with hints of peach. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the vanilla in the smell and taste of this beer. The vanilla makes it seem like a hybrid of a Milkshake IPA and a New England IPA.

Very very cloudy straw appearance with nice white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is a prominent citrus and vanilla blend. Taste is a slightly sweet blend of citrus and vanilla. Great feel
