muddled, the hazelnut (and to some extent the chocolate) is so overwhelming it hides any indication of barrel

Had on tap. Pitch black body with a brown ring. Smells of hazelnut with light roast, chocolate fudge, and bourbon barrel. Taste is the same but it is so rich that it looses some of the nuttiness, slightly more bitter too. Feel is thick, rich, chewy, warm, and slightly nutty. Let this one warm up more and it will reward you

Released 12/22/21; drank 1/26/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.
Rich hazelnut and rich milk chocolate notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Rich hazelnut & rich milk chocolate flavors; mild booze heat & faint barrel notes on the finish.
Simple, sweet and with a nice mouthfeel...but I wish Eunoia would just be a straight up barrel aged stout without the funny stuff. Still a very nice beer.
