16oz can
best by 10/01/22
L: thick, near black body, brown head fizzles away rather quickly
S: sweet and boozy; dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, coffee, coconut
T: cloyingly sweet yet very flavorful: coconut, dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, molasses
F: full body, sweet & sticky, alcohol is warming, cloyingly sweet finish
O: good flavors making me want another, but too sweet to have another

poured from a 16oz can into a TG MD snifter. pours a cola. town but with a creamy dark brown foam. this can was basically poured at room temperature and even at that the adjunct additions are subtle and balanced. the cinnamon leads the way, if anything. taste follows with a nice snack of cinnamon followed by subdued coffee and chocolate. vanilla is more of an afterthought and / or tends to round things out. solid mouthfeel. not as full to me as some other iterations of Pressed. overall, maybe a little too much going on. it’s certainly pleasant (perhaps beyond pleasant, even) and drinkable. doesn’t really carry any of the high abv in the nose, taste or mouthfeel, making it all the more drinkable. i’d say it’s a solid “breakfast porter” with its flavor profile but its abv will send you straight to a morning nap. either way, it’s a good imperial porter.

Served from the tap in a stemless taster at the P3 taproom.
Pours a straight onyx topped by a finger or so of short-lived sandstone foam. The nose comprises roast, coffee, light molasses, mild cinnamon, light vanilla bean, and a drop or two of milk sugar. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a thin vein of toasted coconut. The body is a stolid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. One of the best Pressed offerings, in my oh-so-humble opinion.
