While we celebrate 4 years of Phase Three this week, sharing a cake would have been a bit hard. Plus, this year, we wanted brownies - it's our birthday, after all! So instead, we made some of the most ridiculously chocolatey beer we could brew up. HBD is an imperial brownie stout. Cocoa nibs and a touch of vanilla are absolutely explosive on both the aroma and flavor. Gooey thickness with just the right amount of roast for balance.

Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a small dark tan head; thick, tree-curtain lace remained.
Brownie batter, vanilla & fudge notes in the nose. Quite decadent.
Medium thick, smooth mouthfeel.
Brownie flavors, for sure; brownie batter, vanilla & fudge. Booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Decadent, but drinkable. I'd have another!
