This double dry-hopped hazy double IPA features HS17701, this experimental hop varietal developed by @hopsteiner - fruit forward with notes of bright yuzu, peach, and ripe apricot. HS17701 melds perfectly with El Dorado & Mosaic, also fruit-forward hops, for the juiciest of brews.

Canned canned 7/11/23 (2 weeks ago)

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (10% clarity) pale, medium orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, grapefruit, papaya, yuzu, some cantaloupe melon. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of orange citrus, grapefruit citrus, yuzu, some papaya and cantaloupe melon. A touch of stonefruit and cantaloupe melon emerge. Pithy and a slight bite after end. (4.00)

Feel: Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation. A bite off the finish and leans dry. (4.00)

Compared to Phase 3 DDH Later Gator 7/2023: Pours slightly lighter, milder aromas. Less blueberry, melon, mango. More citrus pith, guava, papaya. Winner: Later Gator

Overall: First try at Lyrical Rampage. Pretty good. Has some citrus and yuzu fruit flavors. Fresh off the block and a sharp little bite from the DDH. Nothing too intense, and pretty drinkable. (Rating: 4.00)

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a murky light orange with three fingers of frothy white foam head. pineapple, orange, pine and a bit of alcohol burn on the nose. taste mostly follows. a little less alcohol and a bit more pine and orange marmalade. medium-full mouthfeel. pretty good. not exactly hazy in appearance. that’s really my only knock. the hop combination is good. very juicy with a nice bitterness to it.
