The base of this beer is a blend of two imperial stout recipes we use. One, our standard "recipe 2" and the other being a riff off of that, where we used a base malt of Maris Otter - typically the malt we reserve for our barleywine, Arabesque, and sometimes other English-style beers we make. The blend is mostly made up of beer that came out of Willett Bourbon casks, 20% Four Roses, and 10% Wild Turkey for eighteen to twenty four months - averaging out at twenty months.
After blending we thought that playing off of the marris otter malt, that works well with caramel notes in barleywine that it would be fun to add in a tiny bit of caramel, balanced out by a touch of Saigon cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla, and Ghana cocoa nibs.

Released 10/20/23; drank 11/19/23 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a minimal, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lacing remained.
Chocolate syrup, vanilla syrup & caramel syrup notes in the nose. Not sure if they are using syrups or not, but it sure as hell smells like they did.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup, vanilla & mild caramel flavors; faint cinnamon bite on the finish. As this warmed, faint booze heat emerged. No barrel present at all.
Sticky sweet, borderline cloying and I don't know why the bother with barrels on these. Basically liquified candy.
