Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) medium to light and pale orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (4.25)
Aroma: Stronger Romas of lemon and grapefruit citrus, passionfruit, grapefruit zest. Some hints of mango skins underneath. Zesty. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong flavors of grapefruit, citrus zest, lemon, passionfruit, some hints of green, grape and pear. Some dry mango skins underneath. Clean and dry on the finish. (4.25)
Feel: Medium body, strong carbonation. Finish is crisp, clean, dry. (4.25)
Compared to Phase Three DDH Adhara 10/2023: Pours slightly hazier, similar head. Milder aromas. More grapefruit and lemon zest. More mango skin and dry grape. Less orange, cantaloupe, pineapple. Dryer and cleaner. Winner: Synchrophaser.
Compared to Drekker Super Freak 10/2023: Pours similar, milder aromas. More grapefruit, pineapple zest, pine. Less tangerine, orange, melon. More tart and dry.
Compared to Toppling Goliath Cage's Castles 10/2023: Pours similar, stronger head. Milder aromas. Less orange citrus and flower. More grapefruit and dry mango skins. Less smooth. More dry, clean, and a bite.
to Phase Three Tonal Range 11/2023: Pours lighter, stronger head. Milder aromas. More tropical orange and pineapple. Less orange citrus and citrus flower. More tropical, sweeter. Winner: Tonal Range
to Phase Three DDH Cloud Street 11/2023: Pours lighter, stronger head. Milder aromas. More bitter grapefruit and mango skins. Less smooth orange flesh and creamsicle.
to Toppling Goliath Nepo Baby 12/2023: Pours similar, stronger aromas. More smooth grapefruit and mango and grape. Less lemon citrus and pineapple.
to Hop Butcher Urbs in Orto 12/2023: Pours darker, larger head. Similar aromas. Less tropical notes and dankness. More grapefruit, white grape, floral and mango. More dry and bitter.
Overall: An interesting combo of Vic Secret of Strata. It works. Lots of grapefruit zest from the Vic, some dry grape and mango skins from the Strata. It's zesty, clean, and dry. I think Syncrhophaser flavors will peak in a couple of weeks as it settles. The Strata Vic Secret combo is unusual, but it works. (Rating: 4.19)
