The proper evolution of our classic porter aged on toasted coconut has completed its journey and is ready. We brewed up Imperial Niu, a bigger version of Niu, and tossed it into a blend of whiskey casks to introduce bold whiskey and wood flavors. After it was done resting, we aged it on toasted coconut. Notes of chocolate, toffee, candied coconut and, of course, notes of char and fragrant whiskey throughout.

This one pours a very dark and oily black color, with a very small head, and not much lacing.

This smells richly of toasted sweet coconut, milk chocolate, and caramel.

This is definitely coconut forward – with an oily, sweet, and toasty coconut flavor. There’s a good dose of milk chocolatey creaminess to the base stout, with very little roastiness. The barrel comes through in a sweet way, caramel and maple, with just a hint of oakiness.

This is oily, slightly syrupy, but not too, too cloying. It has very little overt booziness to it.

This is pretty solid, in smaller doses specifically.

Had on tap. Jet black oily body, brown cap that is short lived. Smells like a barrel aged almond joy complete with rich chocolate, full coconut and whiskey all melding as one. Taste is not as rich but still delicious: here the barrel does kick back against the almond joy a bit so that the coconut is much stronger. Still, an excellent dessert that works because of the porter body, sure it is very thick for style, but the lighter weight makes it more wieldy, but a little more barrel here would elevate to even higher heights
