Like it's bourbon barrel-aged sibling, the base is the same. This time the beer spent the same 26 months in casks, but we chose apple brandy casks to offer additional notes of apple crumb cake.

Had on tap. I apparently infamously reviewed the bourbon ba version from years past lowly, the gentlemen tried to get me to change my score based on a second tasting, but no having it twice I felt the same. So this was not one I sought out, but hey when you are already here why not? I am so glad I did! Sure the apple brandy is huge in both smell and taste, but it wasn't hot. If anything it brings out grape, caramel, coca and oak with vanilla accents to the forefront. Taste has more barrel character in general. Feel is thick, heavy, not sludgy as it looks but on the way, the brandy here brighten and lifts up the complexion a good bit through the sip. Give this one a try, certainly unique at the very least
