Back in early 2022 we invited the Maplewood Brewery team over to brew up a big, gnarly imperial stout. We wrote a recipe that showcased our favorite things in each of our recipes, and the resulting base beer was full of cocoa powder, nuts and dark fruit. We secured some freshly emptied Elijah Craig bourbon barrels and laid the beer to rest for 26 months. Once fully mature, we decided to leave it alone and showcase the base recipe we created along with the time put in, with nothing to stand in the way - just micro-oxidized, wood and whiskey saturated imperial stout.
