16oz can. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of chilies, spices, vanilla and sweet chocolate. Mild spiciness with chocolate, vanilla and rich toffee.

Another pint can poured into my tulipish-snifterish Pumpking glass. This is cola black. Got a nice light, white with a tinge of brown cap on it. To start, the aroma is reminiscent of chocolate, vanilla, and marshmallow. The first taste invokes plenty of cinnamon over chocolate. It definitely strikes me as "Mexican" hot chocolate. Yet, there is also a sort of ice cream quality to it. I think Rocky Road is a very apt comparison! The bit of bitterness, like baking chocolate, on the finish is a nice touch. The finish is overall smooth and sweet. Pretty full in body and reasonably carbonated. A little on the thinner end of stouthood, which keeps it from getting too heavy, so it actually works.

Aroma is sweet chocolate/marshmallow/kind of like rocky road ice cream and a hint of cinnamon. The flavor is cinnamon, dark malts and an acidic/sweet chocolate/mild marshmallow finish.
