Clear, dark amber (nearly brown) pour; dark brown in the glass, semi-opaque; dense, long-lasting, light khaki colored head. Faint yet pleasing scent; malt-like with a bare trace of toffee. Outstanding dark, rich malt flavor; moderate note of hop bitterness; hazelnuts and toffee. Medium body mouthfeel; smooth and slick on the palate; subtle underlying warmth.
My first impressions were rather 'meh', but after a few additional sips and with a slight bit of warming, the beer grew on me. Considered as a Munich dunkel style of beer, this one ain't too shabby.
