Arabesque 2023 was aged for 23 months in freshly dumped Heaven Hill bourbon casks – the longest age time for Arabesque to date. Notes of toffee, caramel, Biscoff cookies, spicy, aromatic bourbon, and charred oak sit atop a decadent base beer built from UK Marris Otter and a variety of UK Crystal malts. We then conditioned this on coconut.

Had on tap. Brownish black syrupy pour, no head save a tiny brown ring. So generally I am opposed to adjuncted barleywine, so I came into this skeptical, but this was really good. It works because the coconut melds into the barrel and rich malts making a rich and flavorful combination with caramel, toffee, and molasses, contrasting with a full and earthy barley. In the taste dark fruits are added to these nasal interactions. Feels full, heavy, and oh so smooth while imparting richness and decent amount of barrel and barley. Added overall points for making this combo work where so many others have failed
