We took our robust imperial stout base and aged in a blend of Jeppson’s Bourbon and Willett Bourbon barrels for 22 months. Inspired by Dubai chocolate, we added Pistachio, Ghana cocoa nibs, vanilla, and roasted sesame. Notes of milk chocolate, creamy, and nutty pistachio, rounded out with classic bourbon notes and oak tannin.

8 ball black with almost no head but for the thinnest few bubbles forming a broken chain around the surface.
Thickly viscous, sweet chocolate meets mild mild pistachio and an almost strawberry sort of element that comes across sharply.

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a Lost Abbey teku.
Pours deep, thick, rich. No head or lace. Thick legs that last forever. Nose is cocoa, hazelnut, pistachio, fudge, and chocolate. Not boozy but dense. Very aromatic. Beer opens chocolate, mint, and pistachio. Fudge, cocoa, and molasses in the middle. Hazelnut shell and more coarse cocoa powder in the middle. Sticky. Tobacco and oak at the finish. Body is full with little to no carbonation. Slick and oily on the palate. Goes down smooth, chewy.
Solid. I don't know that I get any sesame, which tends to be a pretty subtle flavor.

It is clearly the year of the Dubai Chocolate, it is everywhere! Including now BA beer! Pitch black body with a brown cap that settles into a ring. Smells of roasted pistachio with big rich chocolate, both milk and dark, vanilla and char all soaked in bourbon. Taste has the nuttiness of the pistachio come through loud and clear with the sesame making an appearance as the element that pushes the pistachio without having too much salinity, very cleaver. The barrel is oak and caramel forward, blending into the supporting role with the char, earth, and vanilla to support their chocolate champion. Big, warm, rich, chewy, and clean for style. One of the better eunoia in a while, with not your typical beer ingredients
