Golden Grove is a barrel-aged strong ale rested for 22 months in Apple Brandy casks. The barrels imparted layers of sweet, tangy apple cider and warming spirit, lifted by oak tannin for balance. Simple in concept, but rich with nuance and saturation.

Full disclosure, I love apples. Reddish brown body with a khaki head that fades slowly. Brandy and apples with caramel with wood, toffee, and cider for the nose. Taste much the same, tannins emerge more to balance the apple brandy sweetness. Feel is warm and full with a medium body, though sweetness does start to add up but never reaches the tipping point for me. Rich and sweet treat for fall, how about them apples? The wife liked it
