Very sweet. Possibly too sweet. Big on vanilla scents and flavors. Roasted dark malt with strong rye presence. A bit astringent and cloying. Otherwise great.

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a Tree House teku.
Pours pitch black. Like motor oil. Slick, near no carbonation, dark, brown, mocha colored thick legs. Nose is super aromatic. I get brownie, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and tobacco with a hint of fresh plum and grape. Booze is present but subdued. Beer opens prunes and raisin. This sweetens into chocolate, brownie, and vanilla. Tobacco and sweet soy sauce in the middle. A touch of mint, oak, and a reminder of booze to finish. Body is full and near still. Silky, filmy. Medium finish. Great balance.
This is fantastic.

This ended up being exactly as I hoped! The pour with a thick oily opaque jet back liquid with a dark brown cap. Smells starts with the rye and dark chocolate with vanilla, sneaky complex bourbon barrel, and minor char. Taste adds fudge, blackstrap molasses, hints of leathery raisin and specks of coffee. Feel plays with booze warmth and vanilla coolness, rugged rye and barrel meeting smooth malts, in a heavy and thick matrix with chew and roast instead of syrup. A great sipper that delivers what was promised
