This barrel-aged stout was built from a blend of imperial stout recipes and rested for 24 months in a selection of bourbon barrels. The long time in oak developed deep layers of chocolate, dark caramel, and warm spirit character. After blending, the stout was conditioned on a combination of toasted and raw coconut flakes, hazelnuts, cocoa nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans. The coconut brings both sweet and toasty dimension, hazelnut adds a soft praline richness, cocoa nibs reinforce structure and depth, and Madagascar vanilla rounds everything into a smooth, cohesive finish. The result is a focused, expressive stout shaped by two years in bourbon casks and carefully layered finishing ingredients.

Pitch black viscous body with a brown head. Aromas of hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla, and coconut in that order of intensity, supported by the bourbon and malt. Taste has the barrel in a stronger way, melding with the adjuncts, but the hazelnut shines through in a pure way that steals the show. Certainly sweet and thick verging on syrupy, but the barrel character helps given depth and contrast. a heavy sipper that isn't super wieldy. Honestly save for midwinter

I think this is what I’m drinking right now, and I am not quite enjoying it. Too sweet. Sam I am, I don’t like hazelnut, and that’s too prevalent a flavor on this one. Syrupy, dirty, inky, and too hot on the booze. Just not very good overall.
