Hazy NEIPA for the Curtain Up! Beer initiative hosted by Gun Hill. Lovely cause supporting the arts. Public domain recipe on its website and triple dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo, Azacca, and Centennial Cryo. W&W version swaps in Galaxy on the final dry hop instead of the third Citra addition too.
Pours perfectly hazy yellow and with a white frothy head. White lacing follows too. Looks great.
This is where I start to gripe. Smells like grassy greens, orange juice, and then a noticeable clove note. The more it approaches room temp the more noticeable it becomes too.
Floats between (charitably) floral clove, citrus medley, sweet hay, and unbaked pie crust. I think it would be more appropriate to just try to be a Hopfenweiss at this point but nothing is outrageously off.
Very smooth drinking. Plush and soft with a slight citric tang at first but it's easily the beers second best aspect.
I like the cause first and the beer second. It's good but there are a few missteps here that make me feel it could be of more precise flavor, sharper quality, etc etc.
