Ingredients- Great Western 2-row, Crystal 120, Chocolate Malt, Smoked Malt, Dark Belgian Candi Syrup
Tasting Notes- Aromas of chocolate with hints of plums, caramel and raisins lead into chocolate, roast and caramelized sugar flavors. Finishes with a slight hop bitterness and hint of smoky malt. This deceptively smooth Lager beer was aged for a month before release. Pairs well with aged cheeses and rich desserts.

Taster at brewery. Dark, black pour, colar of beige head. Aroma and taste feature roasty malts, chocolate notes, thick body, rich textures. Nicely done.

Pours a dark brown bordering on black, minimal light khaki head...faint smoke swirls within a nose of dark chocolate and roast...faint dark fruits as well...smooth body doesn't overwhelm the faint smoky malt on the palate...more roast and chocolate and even coffee...faint hop bitterness...medium/full bodied...a good Baltic!

i have liked the darker brews in here so far, and this is a hefty and quality baltic porter, not quite as dry, lagered tasting or feeling, or clean in the end as i like the style to be, but its rich and robust, and i think its nice on these still chilly spring nights. really black in the glass, shiny too, and with a rich mocha crema on top, pretty and intense looking. heavy roast in the nose, sweet raisin and toffee, molasses, and honey, with a defined espresso note as well, pretty deep and layered, relatively complex, and with a neat sort of warmth about it that has nothing to do with alcohol, almost cozy feeling right away. intense dark malt hits immediately, followed by a sweet baked layer, finally some bitterness, smoke, and black coffee in the finish. it hides its alcohol well, presents itself as real wintery, and even with some residual sugar i think is a nice take on the style, a little bit different but still identifiable as a baltic porter for sure. the darker beers have been leading the way for these guys in terms of quality so far, and this one is beefy and tasty, well done.
