We went fulllll send with this California-Style IPA. We kept the color and body light, but the hops big and punchy. Pilsner malt, golden promise, and a touch of wheat lay the base for massive cold-side additions of citra, simcoe, mosaic, and Idaho-7 hops. Danky notes of pineapple, pink grapefruit, and papaya jump out of the glass, while the restrained bitterness and dry finish leave you thirsting for more.
Malt - Idaho-grown Pilsner, Golden Promise, White Wheat, Crystal Malt
Hops - CItra, Mosaic, Idaho 7, Simcoe

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Pale golden, light cloudiness, soft, foamy head. Hoppy aroma, pale malts, sweet. Taste centers on the hop profile, fruity, floral, sticky, lingers a bit. Mouth coating.

another pretty good ipa from these guys, and i think now its pretty fair to say that they have fully turned the corner in terms of quality, they are not making objectively mediocre beer anymore, all of it is solid. this one wasnt quite as compelling as the hazy series volume 10 i had the same evening, but its quite good. sometimes i get pretty strong green onion from idaho 7 hops, and i do a little bit in this one too, and combined with the cat pee side of the mosaic, its a little bit of a weird complexion, strange from those two, maybe not the best parts of either of them, but made more familiar by citra and simcoe in the mix too, so not overly interesting or even appealing, but the beer is well made. i like the lighter but not irrelevant malt profile, a little biscuit and honey vibe to it, plain bagel, and its dry. i also like the lesser body, its almost lager crisp, rare for an ipa, and the carbonation is high and enlivening. as it warms i get some pretty heavy botanical character, green tea, dried flowers, lemon verbena from the citra, which bring the hops back around a bit for me, bitterness is relatively low too here comparatively, and on the whole the ferment is clean and this is drinkable as they go. its nice that the quality itself stands out, like this is good even though the hop profile is decidedly unspectacular, which is not something that would have been possible for these guys a year ago. good but not great in terms of flavor, but of nice quality overall and more drinkable than a lot of their others right now...
