i know it seems like sometimes i love to hate these guys, but they have made it pretty easy in a lot of unique ways over the years, and although lately they were on the right track, my recent visit was pretty rough in terms of beer quality. that said, need to call out the good with the bad, and this one is really solid, its a lot like the lager they used to do before they turned it into a blonde, although now properly unfiltered, maybe noble hopped up a little bit, and given a kick of european character both in terms of grain and yeast. its light but has some body from not being filtered, its dry and its bright, and the fermentation seems patient and complete, none of the cheapness that the new blonde seems to have, almost a purity here standing in juxtaposition to that. light spiciness on the finish, good enough carbonation, and while this isnt about to win any major awards, its leagues better than the other two beers i had while i was in this recent time, the almond cookie edition of their stout and the new belgian wit, yikes! good to see some innovation here, but don’t let the quality of the latest hoppy stuff fool you, they still have some obvious issues to sort out in the brew house. even with that, this is good, drinkable and crisp and with some points of interest along the way, a good addition to their lineup that should keep them going this summer.

Draft at brewery. Hazy yellow body with a lasting one finger dense head. Light grainy aroma, lemons, white bread. Taste brings a noticable bitter bite, hint of lemon peel, biscuits.
