nice beer right here, robust porter done with gobs of toasted coconut, the base beer is killer on its own i imagine, but the bitterness, the light smoke, and the coffee notes it carries play so well with the coconut in here, it hits a touch desserty, but the flavor combination is money, and i think its softened some by the sweetness, not way off there, just limits drinkability a bit. shiny and black in the glass, average lightly colored head on top, tidy looking. the toasted coconut is bold in aroma and flavor, but so is the dark grain, and the marriage is wonderful, the coconut seems fresh, real, and adds a slight cocktail element, while the layers of good espresso and dark chocolate underneath add some cool depth, it kind of reminds me of those coconut covered chocolate macadamia nuts my mom used to bring me home from hawaii when she would go there for work. the bitterness is a nice counterpoint to the sweet, and the way the coconut coats the palate and lingers is delicious. cool beer for late winter, not super heavy to drink on or anything, but a little also seems to go a long way. nice mix of flavors here, the base porter is impressive in quality, and i think these guys have finally turned a corner on quality with the beers outside of just making better ipa, well done! rad can art on this one too, gorgeous packaging!

On-tap at Prefunk; dark brown body with plenty of ruby highlights...solid, coffee-like roast presence on the nose as well as a good dose of coconut cream...palate follows, impressions of mocha and milk chocolate...the coconut is fresh, authentic and sweet...well done here all-around. Almost a bit too sweet for me, just a sipper and a one-and-done (because of the sweetness, not the abv).

16oz can from Hops & Bottles.Dark brown pour with soe light peeking through around the edges, persistent frothy beige head. Aroma is toasted coconut. Taste continues with more of the coconut, tasting fresh and not like suntan oil. Cocnut lays atop light roasty malts coupled with a rich, creamy body. Very minor bitterness at the finish with lingering coconut.
