Cool location, down a pedestrian alley off the historical town square. Adjacent to a gaming parlor, and literally 2 doors down from Snappers Bar & Grill. A large lion's head door-knocker was mounted on the wall by the entrance, with an awning and patio table out front. Inside it's cozy and well decorated, old brickwork, salvaged antique cabinets behind the bar. The story goes that they were salvaged from a local arts & crafts home in town, before an entire block of them were demolished for a car dealership. An antique bicycle hung on the back wall, and another adjacent room with seating was off to the right. We got an impromptu brewery tour after meeting the brewer at the bar.
Service at the bar was fast and friendly from one of the owners, who told us all about the space. One tip we got was to check for their taps at Snappers, as they usually have a couple of different beers from the brewery on tap there. BYO food, highly recommend a massive burger from Snappers.
Beers were good here, the Mexican Lager was really great, and I left with a growler. Barleywine was robust and had a light butterscotch note, the Hefe and DIPA were adequate. Looking forward to trying more from them in the future. They are working on a very small 3BBL brewery, which allows them to rotate small batches. Looking forward to a return trip already, the drive to get here is really nice on the backroads.
