L- A very deep chestnut brown, clear, very elegant indeed, with a 3mm pale tan head, holds well.
S- A deeper roasted smell with hints of cocoa.
T- Woah, it starts slow, into ale > deep/quite pungent ale > is that cocoa? > er, no I think it more coffee.
F- It a lightish body relative to it's relatively full-on Taste. So if you were big into black beer you could session this and I expect it would stand up well to spicy food too.
O- Sometimes you find beers from newer small regional brewers and have higher hopes than findings. This beer seems a bit different from other porters/black beers I've had. Firstly, there is nothing wrong/out of place here for my palate to object to. It has quite a pungent flavour, the body works with that but isn't so heavy to become tiring. CO2 remains good even 20 minutes (and counting) post-pour. I think it's an accomplished beer and one fans of black beer might seek out. For 5% this one does a decent job of the style.
500ml paper wrapped bottle that peels off and has more info and is also a 'beer token'. BB: 10/08/2021 Bought from BeersOfEurope/UK for home delivery.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
