The concept for Bait House Brewery arose from the property’s long-standing use as a bait and tackle shop. Fondly remembered by many Sandusky fisherman, Herb’s Bait Shop served the community for almost seventy-five years. Now in loving tribute Herb’s stands Sandusky’s first microbrewery, Bait House Brewery. Our Brewery draws on Sandusky’s long-time connection not only with the fishing industry, but maritime life generally. Completely handmade, each style of our beer will delight those going out for a day’s fishing, and fine craft beer lovers alike. Remember, there’s “Nothin’ Fishy About It!”

Great food, good vibe in the summer, but limited selection of their beers. The vibe would have been better had the street not been torn up with construction - but Bait House's fault of course.

Stopped in on the way to Cedar Point for a baseball tournament. Convinced my wife that spending more money was a good idea!
It’s a cool place, you can tell it’s a locals hangout. It was trivia night so the place was packed but we still were able to snag a table right around 6pm. It’s seat yourself.
Huge bar menu serving 5 house made beers, other craft options and some macros. Liquor too. I got the cream ale and the session ipa. Both a bit underwhelming but still tasty.
Food menu was solid with sandwiches and pizza. Burgers and chicken sandwich were very good. Kids were happy too. Again, the place was packed and service was busy but they could’ve used a couple more servers. They were working hard; rating based on that level.
Overall, while not a destination for the beer I thought it was a cool place with good vibes and a chance to hang out.
