16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
Looks decent enough in the glass. Slightly dirty dark orange juice colored body. White head quickly dissipates to a ring, no lacing.
Nice soft tropical fruit aroma.
On tasting, the softness and tropical fruit come first, quite comforting.....then.....BAM!!!
The mouth is filled with a grapefruit/grapefruit peel assualt on the taste buds. Jarring,.....but....damn, it's good. Lasting bitterness.
Mouth close to full, finish bitter grapefruit.
Overall, you're laying back in your chair enjoying another soft tropical fruit NE ipa, and then you're bolt upright wondering what the hell happened to your fruit juice. Love that. People not fond of grapefruit should avoid this, or be knocked on the floor.
