16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
Looks very nice in the glass. Clear dark reddish amber body. Small off white head shrinks to a thick ring and covering. A little lacing.
Faintly musty sweet malt aroma with a touch of dark fruit.
On tasting, sweet malts come first, a little pepper in there, and the Belgian boiled candy taste. Nice brew.
Mouth above medium, the finish is a little dry and bitter.
Overall, and I freely admit dubbels aren't my favorite style, this, apart from the finish, was an enjoyable drink.
