16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
Body is a slightly hazy dark amber. Off white head persists in decent form at first, before shrinking to a thick ring and faint covering. Not much lacing.
Sweet and malty aroma.
On tasting, the malts are front and center, giving it an English ipa feel. The hoppy bitterness comes barging in later, but malts prevail.. Might be a bit old?
Mouth is a little odd. Though there is decent carbonation, it feels a little dead. Was thinking cask ale feel, which would be no bad thing at all, just doesn't quite work for me here. Mouth between medium and full, finish sweet then a little bitter.
Overall, just misses the mark for me, though certainly not a bad beer.
