Appearance: Hazy, grape fruit juice-like look. White head with short retention.
Aroma: Tropical / guava fruit aromas
Flavor & Aftertaste: Hoppy tropical / guava flavors. Grainy in the aftertaste. Good balance of sweet & tart flavors. Not bitter.
Mouth-Feel: Light bodied. Short slightly tart finish. No bitterness.
Overall: This Berliner Weisse scored well with The Beer Connoisseur. I can see why. Berliner Weisse and sours are not really among my favorite styles, but this is very nice. I would definitely drink this during the summer months. It's light and refreshing. A perfect balance of tart and sweet, so that neither is offensive. Has guava fruit flavor & aroma with a graininess that lingers into the aftertaste. Drinks very easy, I imagine this is one of their most popular beers during summer.
