Maibock
Sibeeria
We believe Maibock deserves much more love. With spring still a couple of months away and a new tank designated for ageing stronger beers, we decided it’s just the right beer for the occasion. Brewing the original strong lager built on precise balance and a lot of patience is exactly the kind of challenge we like to face, so we read a lot and in the first days of the new year got to it. It took a precise blend of three different malts, authentic Rottenburger hops, careful fermentation and almost 10 weeks of cold lagering to present our first Maibock – this is a crystal clear, intense beer of golden colour where dominant honey notes mingle with woody, minty notes of hops and balanced bitterness. If you can, treat yourself to a gravity pour.

Copenhagen 2/12 2023. 50 cl can from Beershoppen webshop. The can is in fresh green and gold like a carton of milk.
Pours unclear copper with a mid-sized white head. Stable- Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is medium intense with a sugary sweet malty odor mingling with a sharp grainy scent. Sweet pale malts, bread, sugared apricot and plums. Sharp grains and alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is rather intense with a strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with a sharp edge of alcohol.
Sharp, sweetish Maibock.
