Draft at Boise location. Clear golden wit ha nice, thick creamy head. Some vanilla on the nose, recalls the Vanilla Tootsie Rolls. Taste too is more of the vanilla, of the candy variety. A bit sweet, but nice consistency.

6/26/18....pours clear gold, with a light ring of white foam. Creamy honey nose. Grain taste, simple and malty. Smooth mouthfeel. Mellow malt. So simple yet tasty.

Nitro 16oz can poured into a frosted mug - the way cream ales are supposed to be consumed?!
A: Chill-hazed straw with a creamy white nitro head with light viscosity.
S: Vanilla is prominent on the nose, followed by bready and doughy malts and a light floral component. Definitely smells sweet but the cream ale component is there to back it up.
T: Follows the nose and leans sweet with lots of vanilla/vanilla cream and malt sweetness. There is a faint what I would call 'zesty' component to this as well, can't put my finger on it...nitro may be muting the flavors here a bit.
MF: Crisp light bood is very smooth from the nitro.
O: Easy drinking even with the added vanilla sweetness; not fatiguing though, the vanilla is a pleasant addition to my palate.

served on nitro at the boise location. it seems like vanilla cream ale has become oddly popular of late. this is really desserty, and if you dont mind it sweet and over flavored, you will dig it. if, on the other hand, you want it to taste like beer, you might want to look elsewhere. the vanilla is really strong in nose and taste, dominant even, there isnt enough from the grain here to keep it beery by standing up to the vanilla, and while i used to think you couldnt put too much vanilla in a beer, now its beers like this that demonstrate that you in fact can. i like the aroma better, the vanilla is natural and there is a definitely sweet creaminess to this, like melted ice cream or something. the flavor though it doesnt seem so natural, as there is a light metal taste along with it, and an odd booziness for what it is, like an alcoholic extract or something was used. its also diabetic, so much sugar in here, they must have dosed it with some lactose too, which seems totally unnecessary. its a shame really, because the mouthfeel would be amazing with the nitro if it were even a little bit drier. vanilla lingers long enough that i am burping it up well after finishing the glass. its one dimensional and that is not a good thing here. i need a little more from the malt to make it taste like beer, maybe better as an amber ale than a cream? one and done for us with this one.
