on tap at the brewery in boise, possibly a smash beer, really lackluster overall, easily my least favorite of the handful of beers we had in here, and in need of some serious work if they are going to make it with this one, especially with some pretty solid bruts in the local market here, this one was a letdown. nevermind the hops, the fermentation profile is whack, whatever enzyme or yeast and process they used here is all wrong, the beer tastes chemical, with a strong phenolic and detergent character, makes the beer really off putting, especially in the finish since it lingers so long. this is a flaw, not a flavor choice i disagree with. the hop profile appears to be going for a citrusy thing, but its lost a bit to the weird finish, and i have a hard time with each sip, this is downright messed up. thats worse, is that its not all that dry, and the carbonation thats supposed to be a big feature of the style is mostly absent, this really sags. not sure what went wrong here, but this is on the edge of undrinkable. fortunately, everything else we had here at white dog was significantly better. did anyone else have this experience with this one?
