not wild about this one, in fact im not sure ive ever really been wild about any of the beer ive had from these guys. had this on tap at their newer caldwell location, not a brewery there just a taproom. this is golden is very light in color, almost watery looking golden with just a short white head. it smells and tastes pretty rough, its sweet all the way through, could be honey, could be corn in the mash too, but to me its almost a canned cream corn thing, oddly sweet and earthy beyond the grain, not sure i like what it does to this, which is kill the refreshment value, even in a beer with almost no body, and it seems kind of off, perhaps partially a product of a lackluster ferment, but i dont smell or taste any normal lager yeast here, instead its slightly estery, even a hint soapy, and with the sweetness just doesnt taste like a proper mexican lager. hints of citrus, fresh flowers, and even pils malt when its nice and cold, but it warms up disastrously. why is this so sweet? why does the fermentation seem so off and incomplete? why is it close to flat? this is poorly executed beer, even if they are taking intentional flavor liberties here. disappointing. the best thing about this was drinking it off the frost rail at the taproom, but i couldnt even finish my pint...

Draft at Good Apple. Clear golden, scant head. Aroma seems to have a trace of honey, as does the taste. Sweet, but in an odd way. Not like any other Mexican lager I've tried.
