I don't know if the cask brought out the best in this beer but I thought it was much better than the other 2 reviews. Brown, natch, quite opaque and some light lasting froth a la cask. A fruity, robust brown that verged into mild territory. Smooth, very little hops, some fruit elements like strawberries. Brown sugar and maple syrup flavors evident as well. A sweet creamy beer with real substance, but also managed to be a good appetizer and got my taste buds ready to eat. Great finish. I had a couple of these over the course of the evening and the sweet fruitiness became a little cloying, but that first glass was a delight. Maybe not as good without the cask-conditioning.

Similar to a NewCastle, but just lacked the real flavor the color makes you think is coming. I think I tasted nuts, but couldn't really put a finger on the flavor. It is a dark brown with a slight head and little lacing.
