apricot version of their white whale wit, packed with impressively real and robust apricot character, impressive. the improvement of the base beer from last summer to this summer was evident, but the fruit pops it off even more, i really dug this after not being over the moon on the base wit, even in improved form. its cool how they served this with a slice of super ripe orange apricot on the rim, never seen that before, and it really enhances the aroma in the beer. maybe faintly more orange color to this than the base but its close, fading white airy head, uniform cloudiness, looks the part. aroma of ripe and real apricot, slightly spicy belgian yeast with white pepper, white wine, lemongrass, and pear notes, somewhat more summery and vibrant now with the fruit, which seems to transform this a bit, not super dry still, and quite wheaty underneath it all, all the elements can be appreciated. the fruit isnt sweet but its flavor is well defined in here, pronounced especially in the middle before the yeast kicks up in the back half, the authenticity of the apricot makes this, its summery and true to the real thing, love that. the wit still isnt as tidy as it could be, but it seems a little less soapy and abrasive and even heavy here. fun seasonal here, i bet this will crush for them this summer, love the fruit rim!
