Tropical hazy IPA featuring Skagit Valley Malts and Sabro hops. Complex hop aromatics of coconut, ripe pineapple and mango with a full mouth feel and just a touch of sweetness.

I had this beer on-tap in a nonic pint at Churchkey Pub in Edmonds, WA.

Appearance: pale yellow-orange hue with plenty of haze and a thin layer of ivory foam atop.

Smell: mild citrus aroma with a little bit of tropical character. Volume could be turned up a little, but it’s good.

Taste: nicely citrusy with a hint of tropical fruits and a sweet malt base. Not super complex, but a well put together hazy.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a good creaminess.

Overall: a perfectly cromulent hazy IPA, if not a particularly groundbreaking one. I’d order another.

Canned 11/23/20, poured from 16oz into rose glass.

L: A yellow dull straw with a foamy white head pineapple colored. Super hazed.

S: Creamy coconut mixed with acidic pineapple. Wet. Minor citrus, more mango.

T: Papaya and coconut create a softness followed by the bite of sweet pineapple. Not much grain. A dance of the palate, balanced but bold.

F: Overall delicate except for the burst of acid at the near finish. Complex but softly blended together. Moderately carbonated and full.

An exceptional NEIPA. Full and fruity but just slightly sweet. Creamy and gentle with a pop on the palate, refreshing and intriguing. I appreciate the lower bitterness, 40ibu, to allow the more nuanced flavors to arise without being distracting.

16oz can (dated 4/10/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a murky dark yellow color with an inch of white head that low-moderate retention and very light lacing.

The nose was joosy hops, but had some bright pineapple notes too. No real grain or malt.

Same on the tongue, just a bit brighter, and a bit of bite on the very finish.

The body was the typical light-medium of the style, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was good, I might have another can.

Overall, a fairly average murkster, but one that pushes my personal buttons a bit more than most. Worth trying if you see it.
