Served in 12oz stemless teku (that's the only way I know to describe it. It lacked the top flareout and the stem of a teku, but had the base shape of the main bowl. It was a pretty dumb and ugly glass). Poured a very turbid dark orange color with a half-inch of white head that had low retention and lacing.
The aroma started out as a basic murkster, low grain and frooty hops, but there was a notable scent of gin from the barrels used to age the beer.
On the tongue, the gin was much more assertive and dominated the beer. A bit of oak from the barrel was present, but the sharp botanicals was the feature. The frooty hops poked through a bit, adding a bit of contrast.
The body was the usual light medium of the style, smooth, and had a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability will depend on how well you like gin, I like it, so it was an easy quaff for me.
Overall, an interesting brew. worth a shot if you see it.
