Notes of bread loaf, banana and clove. Southern Heaven is somewhat sweet, very refreshing and can be enjoyed year-round.

Going on memory from here, so keep that in mind. On tap at the Yard House in The Battery Atlanta.
Was brought to table, so I wasn't able to see the pour. Excellent head retention. Typical cloudy appearance that you'd expect from a hefeweizen.
Aroma was incredible. Freshly baked banana bread right of the oven. Warm clove, ripe banana; extremely balanced. My dad, who does not have a good sense of smell also stated he noticed the same notes.
Taste was as good as the aroma. Imagine banana bread in a glass but beer. Low hop bitterness but enough to provide balance to the sweet flavor from the grain bill and yeast. Very true to a Weheinstephan hefeweizen. Perfectly balanced.
Feel was good. Nicely carbonated with a good balanced richness from the wheat.
Overall, this is the best hefeweizen I've had, winning over both Weiheinstephaner and Live Oak. Cannot recommend enough.

Appearance: Hazy, orange gold. Fluffy head with good retention.
Aroma: Bready, banana & clove
Flavor & aftertaste: Restrained bitterness, but may have a hair more bitterness than some Hefes. Bready flavor with banana & clover like esters.
Mouth-feel: Full bodied, soft. Low carbonation. Medium finish.
Overall: Very enjoyable Hefe. Matches up well with imported German counter parts. In some respects better because you can get it fresh locally, which preserves the interesting esters you get from the Hefe yeast. Well crafted.
