Dark reddish brown, nice clarity in the light. A finger of foam rises and falls, minimal spotty lace.
Aroma is boozy, it has that funky phenolic rum note that comes off a little plastic-like, plus big caramelized sugars and fried plantains. It delivers the plantation rum barrel qualities in spades.
Chewy malt, fried plantain, caramelized sugars, slight bite and burn from the 10% abv. Lasting barrel flavors in the long aftertaste, slightly nutty, cola. Rich flavors.
Full bodied, ample carb, a little sticky. Warming and fairly boozy, huge and flavorful.
Overall this was impressive, a little hot, but a nice slow sipper.
