500 mL bottle, paid 4.75 Euro from a small store outside of Dublin (sorry I don't recall exact name/ location). Paper tag hanging around the neck, hand written in pen, says "Whiskey Barrel Aged". Batch No. 115, Best Before 10.2019.
Brought back to the US in a suitcase, chilled, and poured into a room temp pint glass.
L: Two fingers of rocky taupe head bubble up eagerly from a moderate pour. Clear dark brown brew with ruby highlights when held to a light. Topping off the glass later puts up a giant billowy head.
S: Thick malty semi-sweet nose with oats adding a welcome graininess. Mild bit of bitter roasted malt, hints of caramel sweetness.
T/F: A bit heavy on the carbonation and the feel is thinner than expected. Interesting anise finish with a little peppery heat. Vanilla extract and slight oakiness.
