Shortleaf Brewing

 

My wife and I visited this local brewpub on a weekend afternoon. Located in a very suburban development, it is not on a main road. Instead, you need to drive through the residential area to find it. Limited off-street parking, but the place was welcoming and packed on our visit. We sat at the bar, and enjoyed their location-made beers, although they also had many guest taps. The beer was fresh and reasonably well-made. They seemed to focus on stouts, since there were several on tap, ranging from overly sweet to a more simple dry stout. They also had a nice porter and a less-hoppy English-style IPA. We didn't try the food, but it looked delicious. It is a bit out of the way unless you live in the immediate area. The beer is good, but not exceptional in a wonderfully diverse and established beer market. However, the ambiance and warmth were exceptional. We hope to return.
