A 13-oz. pour at the brewery. A thin off-white fizzy and soapy head with lots of large bubbles quickly shrinks to a ring. Burnt orange-red color with reddish amber highlights.
Strong smells of pumpkin spice, heavy on cinnamon, light on clove. The title warns us.
Spice is moderate in the taste with a candy sweetness, pumpkin taste is light but fresh.
Semi-sweet, bitterness is a blend of spice and piney/resiny hops. Some caramel sweetness and faint toasted malt. Bitterness diminishes as sweetness builds to a long finish. Mild spice and caramel linger a while.
Medium light body, below average carbonation yet does not go flat. Almost smooth, easy drinker, alcohol is buried in the spice,
Higher on spice and light on pumpkin taste yet balanced and enjoyable. At the brewery, they recommend serving this beer with a spiced rim, I recommend trying this beer without the extra spice first.
