On tap at Lops
Well it’s been a minute since I’ve crossed off any breweries on my journey to try all the ones in RI, but today I’m picking it back up. It’s quite odd to me that of the 8 tap lines they have going right now and 4 of them are Imperial Stouts, but I’m happy to try this one out regardless. Let’s get into it
Pours completely pitch black with just a finger of light tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
This really reminds me of an Andes mint in the nose and I’m all about it. I’m picking up on aromas of mint creme, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla, light roast coffee, and a touch of caramel
It’s a bit less vibrant in taste but I’m still digging it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bitter dark chocolate, roasty coffee, mint, burnt caramel, light vanilla, and dark ftuit. The swallow brings notes of mint creme, milk chocolate, light roast coffee, vanilla, and light caramel
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a smooth and slick beer. Finishes quite dry with a firm bitterness
This is solid stuff, an impressive first showing for Lops. Now onto Bravo
